Happy Mother's Day

Something that I had taken for granted the last 24 and a half years of my life is how much my mom did and still does for me. You can never really understand how much a mother does for her kids until you become one. I am so grateful to have a mother that cares for me and my brothers and really put our needs before anyone else's. I am also so overly thankful for the example that she has set out for me so that I may see it and pattern much of my motherhood after hers.
As we have been preparing for our second little boy to arrive and working so hard with our first with potty training, learning the Alphabet, learning how to swim, etc. I have become so overwhelmed with love for the two of them and imagining what it must have been like for my mother to experience this very same thing. It puts into perspective to me how much she really cares and loves us.
I am so grateful that she will be able to fly out to see us when our baby boy arrives and that she will be here to support us and help me with transitioning from one baby to two. It just shows to me that she would love to move the world for me but because that's nearly impossible she moves across the world for me, which is the next best thing.
Some of my favorite memories as a kid were simply just hanging out with my mom. I remember there was a time that me and my brother had stayed up late one summer night just to have my mom teach us how to crochet a simple blanket. Because of that one simple memory I still crochet things and think of my mom while doing so. It's even brought me to venture out and try making other things like matching shorts for my boys.
Something that we did often as well is that we would grab lunch, it was either Panda Express or Legends, and we would park at our local airport and watch the airplanes take off and land. It wasn't anything huge, but it was something that we enjoyed together.
So, to my mom: Thank you for all that you have done for me. Thank you for the love you have shown me for these 24 years and the many years to come. I love you and hope that I can show that to you in every way possible!
