Humble Beginnings

Welcome to Steggy Thoughts, you may be wondering why "Steggy"? Well, we are a family that is proud of their name, and it just so happens to be connected with an awesome dinosaur!

I wanted to start this blog to share my story with the world, I could be like those who start a YouTube channel, but I am too camera shy for that. A little about me and my family, I grew up in southern California and loved every bit of it I served a church mission in Texas for 18 months (learning Spanish) and I fell in love with it! I came home and met my now Husband. My husband was born in southern California as well and later moved to Texas, as he was entering High School he moved to Utah and then back to California where we had met. In between that he also served a church mission in the New England area for two years. We met in 2019 and got married in May of 2020, we then got pregnant with our first son one month later! Just a short time later we moved back where our hearts were left which is here in Texas 💛

My husband likes to joke that 2020 is the year everyone hated but it was the year built for us. We started our marriage in my in-laws three-bedroom home with my father and mother-in-law, also my sister and brother-in-law, my husband and myself. It was a very odd living situation, but we made it work, just 10 months later is when we added our son to this mix. My father and mother-in-law were of course in the primary bedroom, while we had the second biggest room, my sister-in-law was in the third bedroom while my brother-in-law was in the formal dining room!

This was the contents of our very small bedroom, somehow our family of three lived in this little bedroom for a solid 4-5 months. This is what I liked to call our Mega Bed. This just shows you how we began, and the journey is still going on.

We now live in a four-bedroom home with all the same people in it but fortunately we are adding another to our mix! So, we now have what I like to call a super mega bed. We are now fortunate to have our own bathroom and a much bigger bedroom than before.

So this is just a little bit about how we came to be where we are today. I hope that those of you who read here get to feel a sense of welcome and true spirit and see that you are not alone, I know that this can reach people who are in the same situation that we are in now and I hope to document and uplift as I do so.
